🎙️THE SCIENCE OF SOUND
From ENIAC to quantum computing, from the Moog Rogue to the Moog Matriarch, Microchip Junky’s (John’s) fascination with electronics has always been all encompassing. His love of computers was sparked at the same time as his love of synthesizers; around 1980. After hearing Fad Gadget he bought his first synth, and unable to play at all became mesmerised by the sounds. The love affair with sound has continued to this day, not so much the music, but more specifically the sounds that make that music.
The Science of Sound highlights the sounds that made John want to record, there will be talks about various synths, recording and production techniques, and computing in the context of music making.
John will be playing DAF, Nitzer Ebb, Fad Gadget, The Horrorist, Die Krupps, Funker Vogt, Kraftwerk, Depeche Mode and many others, some hits and some misses.
